Ilocos Sur is a
lovely province in Luzon's northwestern corner. It is a culturally rich
province that reflects historic Spanish and Filipino ancestors. To demonstrate
and share their treasures with the rest of the world, the locals created the
"Kannadiwan Festival," which promotes these traditional practices.
It is a festival is
held between the last week of January and the first week of February. The
commemoration of the province's founding day are included full schedule.
On the day of
inauguration, a mass is generally held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral.
It is followed by a parade around the city of the Patron Saints of the 40
parishes, as well as representations of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. It is
the Ilocanos' way of thanking the Almighty not only for the many benefits, but
also for the city's rich heritage, which includes the Ilocanos' strong family
values. The townfolk's profound faith is on display at this festival.
A number of events
will be held, and because it is a bicentenial celebration, we expect it to be
grander than before.
Because this is an
event centered on Ilocano traditions, the majority of the events will focus on
the country's rich culture, as well as other features.
Traditional games,
annual excellence awards in service and education, various art and food
contests, carnivals, pageants, variety performances, education day
celebrations, and, of course, exhibits where most of the province's OTOP are
shown and sold to visitors and tourists
To be completely
honest with you. I always look forward to this event because it is a
one-of-a-kind celebration.
